You are invited to explore the world of oats!
Welcome to an inspiring site visit at Oatly’s facilities in Landskrona, the birthplace of the world’s first Oatly factory. During the morning, you will get an inside look at how a plant-based pioneer works with sustainability, and how climate transition plans are put into practice.
Oatly’s story began in the early 1990s, when a group of scientists at Lund University set out to create a dairy alternative that could replace cow’s milk without sacrificing the dairy experience. They developed a patented process that uses enzymes to break down oats into tasty, nutritionally relevant products while retaining key fibers. This led to the launch of the world’s first oatmilk in 1995. The first product under the Oatly brand followed in 2001, and in 2006 the first Oatly factory was established in Landskrona. Since 2012, Oatly has built a different type of food company, committed to improving people’s lives and the well-being of the planet through a more sustainable food system. Today, Oatly is the world’s original and largest oatmilk company, with a mission of creating delicious, nutritious, climate solution beverages. The company encourages consumers to reassess the climate and environmental impact of their food choices and works to reduce their own.
During the visit, we will learn about how Oatly works with sustainability at the core of their business, from their mission and products through to current climate transition planning. This will include a guided production facility tour and fika. At the site visit we will meet Abigail Damberg, Sustainability Risk and Disclosures Lead and Marcus Johansson, Site Planner, Landskrona, who will lead the tours.
Warm welcome!
